Cliffs of Moher
The Cliffs of Moher are one of Europe’s outstanding coastal features where the giant, rugged coastline rises to nearly 700 feet of sheer cliff above the Atlantic Ocean. It is home to a myriad of wildlife, many different species of birds, dolphins and the occasional whale. There is a long cliff side walk for those who wish to brave the brisk Atlantic breeze. Cruises offer daily 1 hour boat trips under the cliffs from Doolin and Liscannor piers.
O’Brien’s Tower, which was constructed in the early 19th century as a viewing point for Victorian tourists, is located on the highest cliff. From its exceptional vantage position you can view the Clare coastline, the Aran Islands and mountains as far apart as Kerry and Connemara.
Cliffs of Moher are just a 40 minute drive from the Temple Gate Hotel.
